President Trump: the funding of the police will continue

The American leader met with the heads of law enforcement agencies.

Speaking at a meeting with police officers, President Trump said that funding for law enforcement agencies would not be stopped.

“There will be no termination of funding, as well as no disbanding of our police. Our police have allowed us to live in peace. We want to make sure that we don’t have bad guys, and sometimes you see some terrible things that we’ve seen recently, but 99%, I say 99.9%, but let’s agree on 99%, of them, are great, great people, and they do a job that sets records,” the US President said.

Donald Trump commented on the decision of the Minneapolis City Council to abolish the municipal police.

“You can see in some Newspapers that they want to close the Minneapolis Police Department. To close. What does this mean? Close it? They had a couple of tough nights, and they had a third night that wasn’t easy. They left their police station, something I had never seen before. Their mayor asked them to leave the station; now, it looks like they left the mayor. They had three terrible nights, and then I insisted on bringing in the National Guard, and suddenly magic happened. They helped the police, but the police were told to leave their posts. No one has ever seen anything like this,” President Trump said.
