The virtual meeting of Foreign Ministers will be held on December 1-2.
US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo will take part in a virtual meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers, which will be held on December 1-2, the State Department’s press service reported. Participants will discuss current threats to transatlantic security and changes in their structure.
As noted in the State Department statement, Pompeo will reaffirm the US commitment to the North Atlantic Alliance, which has provided peace and prosperity for more than seven decades.
The Secretary of State and his colleagues from NATO and partner countries will highlight the success of the Alliance and discuss current issues, including enhancing the overall defense capability and affirming the Central role of transatlantic values in the NATO 2030 process, strengthening the NATO mission in Iraq, and expanding capabilities to deal with the challenges of the future, in particular, cyber threats and pandemics.
