Pompeo said that Russia and China intend to interfere in the US election

Russia and China are equally determined to interfere in the US presidential election, Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said on Friday.

“They have different approaches. This is certain. But they are equally determined to interfere and influence our elections, and our efforts are focused on specific modalities that they use to try to fight back,” he said in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt.

The text of the interview is published on the website “The Hugh Hewitt show.”

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the US accusations against Russia about Moscow’s alleged interference in the presidential election have been going on for a long time and are no longer surprising.

The US election will be held on November 3, with incumbent President Donald Trump running for a second term and will fight democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller spent two years investigating allegations of “Russian interference” in the 2016 US election and allegations of “collusion between Donald Trump and Russia.” Mueller confirmed the accusations of “interference,” which were denied in the Kremlin, but found no evidence of “collusion,” the existence of which was dismissed in Moscow and Washington.
