The Secretary of State confirmed Washington’s support for Prishtina.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Kosovo Prime Minister Avdulla Hoti in Washington, the State Department said.

As noted in the statement made by the Foreign Ministry’s Press Secretary, Morgan Ortagus, the Secretary of State reiterated the support of the United States for Kosovo, and also supported the ongoing negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia aimed at full-scale normalization of bilateral relations, which should be based on mutual recognition.

The document notes the need to continue implementing the agreements on air, rail, and road transport, which were worked on by the special representative of the US President Richard Grenell.
Also, the statement emphasizes that Pompeo called on Kosovo to strengthen the rule of law and fight corruption.
