Pompeo: China is still hiding information about the coronavirus

The Secretary of State accused Beijing of hiding important information about the outbreak, which put “thousands of lives” at risk around the world.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo criticized China’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak, saying that China’s ruling Communist Party still withholds information from the world necessary to prevent new cases of infection.

In an interview with the Washington Watch radio program, Pompeo once again stated that Beijing’s slowness in sharing information about the virus created risks for people around the world, and said that it “really put thousands of lives at risk.”

“I am concerned that this cover-up, this misinformation that the Chinese Communist Party is engaged in, still deprives the world of the necessary information so that we can prevent new cases from happening again,” Pompeo added.
