Pompeo called the Ukrainian investigation “a stupid game”

The head of the state Department said this during a press conference in Athens.

Secretary of state Mike Pompeo called the House investigation into the possibility of impeaching President Donald Trump a “stupid game.” The head of the state Department said on Saturday in Athens, where he is on a working visit.

“There’s something wrong with the world not focusing on the issues that are right, the issues that matter, the issues that affect people’s lives, and instead you get sucked into some stupid game,” Pompeo said, commenting on the question of the Ukrainian investigation, which is underway in Congress.
“You see, it is useless, it does not help the development of democracy,” the Secretary of state added.

Thus, Pompeo answered the question of whether it is necessary to conduct a further investigation of the telephone conversation that took place in July between President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.

“I don’t think anyone here is particularly interested in this… I think they want to know about the relationship between America and Greece,” said Mike Pompeo.
