Pompeo called Bolton a “traitor”

The Secretary of state criticized the claims of an ex-national security adviser who published a book about the White House.

US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo called a “traitor” former national security adviser John Bolton, who, in his book, accuses President Donald Trump of numerous violations and calls him unfit for the role of head of state.

“It is both sad and dangerous that John Bolton’s last public role was as a traitor who damaged America by violating the sacred trust relationship with the people,” Pompeo said, adding to a string of Trump allies who have criticized Bolton.

In a statement titled “I was there, too,” the Secretary of state noted that he had not read Bolton’s book in its entirety, but after reviewing the published passages, he concluded that “John Bolton is spreading lies, twisted half-truths, and outright untruths.”
