US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the last time he was close to President Donald Trump on September 15 at the White House, neither he nor his wife had a coronavirus infection.
On October 2, Trump announced that he and his wife had been diagnosed with coronavirus. The President’s doctor said that the head of state and his wife are doing well and plan to stay in the White House and perform their duties.
According to the Agency, Pompeo clarified that the last time he had direct contact with the American leader was on the day of the signing in Washington of the so-called “Abraham agreements” – agreements that opened the way for establishing ties between Israel and Arab countries.
“US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo said that he and his wife passed negative tests (for coronavirus),” the agency reports.
“We pray for the President and first lady’s speedy recovery,” Pompeo said.
