One officer was injured during a clash between demonstrators and police.
On Wednesday night, demonstrators again took to Philadelphia’s streets, and gangs of looters began looting stores after police shot and killed a black man with a knife on Monday.
One group marched peacefully for most of the night, shouting the name of the shot Walter Wallace and chanting: “Whose streets? Our streets!”
However, near the police station, the protest turned violent when a large crowd clashed with a group of police officers. Several people started throwing stones, light bulbs, and bricks at the guards.
One police officer was injured.
In another part of the city, groups of people began looting, police said on Twitter, and a local TV channel.
Photos are taken from the air show people robbing the Foot Locker shoe store, while others take out TVs and other goods from the Walmart supermarket.
