Peugeot Boxer van gets electric drive

For the French auto giant PSA, the electrification of commercial vans has long been no surprise. For example, last year Peugeot introduced the electric Expert model to the market, and now the “big brother”, the big battery van e-Boxer, has arrived.

The novelty received two variants of traction batteries to choose from – with a capacity of 37 and 70 kWh. In the first case, the mileage on one charge is 200 km, and in the second – 340 km (all data on the WLTP cycle). E-Boxer buyers can also choose between four body lengths and three roof heights, with a van’s payload ranging from 1150 to 1890 kg. The volume of the cargo compartment is from 8 to 17 cubic meters (depending on the version).

The e-Boxer is powered by a front-mounted electric motor that develops 122 hp. from. and 260 Nm of torque. The declared maximum speed is 90 km/h, a van with a 70 kWh battery can accelerate to 110 km/h. Recharging the battery can take from one (when using a 50 kW DC terminal) up to 12 hours.

E-Boxer sales on the European market will start in the fourth quarter of this year. Peugeot’s prices were not announced.
