Petition to cancel “Brexit” signed by more than 5 million Britons

A petition demanding the repeal of article 50 of the Treaty on the European Union, which regulates the exit of countries, and to maintain UK membership in the EU signed more than 5 million British citizens. The electronic petition is posted on the official website of the British Parliament.

“The government has repeatedly stated that the exit from the EU is the will of the people. We need to put an end to these allegations by demonstrating now the power of public support to stay in the EU. People’s vote may not happen – so vote now”, – said in a statement.

At the same time, on the eve in London, more than a million people took to the streets with the requirement to hold a second referendum on Britain’s withdrawal from the European Union.

Previously in Britain assessed the implications of the vote for the Brexit alternatives.
