A resolution with the names of the impeachment managers is expected to be adopted on Wednesday.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday held a vote on sending articles of impeachment against us President Donald Trump to the Senate. 228 lawmakers voted for the resolution, and 193 voted against it.
Earlier on Wednesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced that a group of seven Democratic lawmakers who will serve as prosecutors in the Senate impeachment trial will be headed by the head of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff.
The managers will also include Zoe Lofgren, head of the Administrative Affairs Committee, Hakeem Jeffries, head of the House Democratic Caucus, Val Demings, member of the Intelligence Committee, Jason Crowe, member of the armed services Committee, and Sylvia Garcia, a member of the Legal Committee.
“The priority is the representatives of the litigants. The priority is the level of comfort in the courtroom,” Pelosi said.
Schiff, along with the head of the Legal Committee, Jerrold Nadler, led the impeachment investigation in the House of Representatives, which resulted in two charges against Trump: abuse of authority and obstruction of Congress.
Pelosi again called for the Senate to review testimony and documents that the Trump administration blocked access to during the House investigation.
