The French government reported that the yellow vest movement was receiving support from abroad. This was stated on Wednesday, January 9 the press Secretary of the Cabinet Benjamin Hryvu in Paris.
According to him, some violent demonstrators belong to the ultra- left camp, while others belong to the far-right camp. “Only what someone is wearing yellow vest, does not mean that he shares the same ideas,” said Hryvu.
The press Secretary of the government, in particular, spoke critically about the coverage of the demonstrations by the Russian TV channel RT. “There are known and approval of the protests some propaganda tools that I don’t want to call the media, such as Russia Today,” he said, pointing out that for some demonstrators it is, on the contrary, “the only free media.”
In addition, Hryvu drew attention to the fact that some members of the government of Italy openly expressed moral support for the protesters the French. On Monday, January 7 a member of the law-populist movement “5 stars”, part of the ruling coalition of Italy, Luigi di Mayo expressed solidarity with the demonstrators in yellow vests. Their partner in the government, the right League party, of which Matteo Salvini is a member, condemned the violence, but generally supported the protests.
We remind that the demonstrations of “yellow vests”, which first began in protest against the increase in fuel prices, and then turned into demonstrations against the policy pursued by the authorities, started on November 17. Quite often they came to an end with mass riots, there are victims.
The French authorities imposed a moratorium on the rise in prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, but the protests continued. The French President Emmanuel Macaron made significant concessions, promising to raise the minimum wage and stabilize the economy, but the situation has not been resolved yet.
