Osaka became the WTA#2 after winning the Australian Open

Australian Open winner Naomi Osaka, Japan, moved up to second in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) world rankings, a new version published on Monday.

Osaka, thanks to the Australian Open’s title, bypassed Romanian Simone Halep, and now only Australian Ashley Barty is ahead of the Japanese. The finalist of the Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne, American Jennifer Brady, has risen in the ranking by 11 lines and is now in 13th place.

American Serena Williams returned to the top ten of the ranking, reaching the Australian Open’s semifinals. The most titled tennis player has moved up four positions and is now in seventh place. Dutch Kiki Bertens left the top 10, now occupying 11th position.

2 (3). Naomi Osaka (Japan) – 7835,
3 (2). Simona Halep (Romania) – 7255
