OPPO is working on a proprietary photo processing chip

OPPO has recently improved the cameras in its smartphones, but the Chinese manufacturer is not going to stop there.

According to an insider Digital Chat Station, OPPO is working on a proprietary photo processor. In theory, the chip will not only improve the quality of images but also speed up their creation.

The insider does not say which smartphone will receive the first proprietary ISP module, but it can be assumed that it will be the next flagship Find X. It is possible that future OnePlus devices will also be equipped with such a processor. As a reminder, the company recently announced a merger with OPPO.

By the way, OPPO will follow in the footsteps of Xiaomi in this regard. The company unveiled its Surge C1 imaging sensor in March. It debuted in the Mi Mix Fold foldable smartphone.
