On June 17, OnePlus announced a merger with its parent company, OPPO. After that, information appeared on the network that the manufacturer would transfer global smartphones to the ColorOS shell, as was done recently in China. But OnePlus has denied the rumors.
A company spokesman confirmed to MySmartPrice that he plans to continue using the proprietary OxygenOS interface. But there is a chance that skins will get similar features in the future. This will make development easier and also allow for faster release of updates.
Recall that the current version of the interface of OnePlus smartphones is the OxygenOS 11 shell. It is currently running OnePlus 7/7 Pro, OnePlus 7T / 7T Pro, OnePlus 8/8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, OnePlus 9/9 Pro, OnePlus Nord, as well as brand new OnePlus Nord CE 5G and OnePlus Nord N200 5G. In the near future, OxygenOS 11 should still receive smartphones OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.
