Today, OnePlus unveiled in India the true successor to the Nord – the OnePlus Nord 2 5G smartphone, which offers a decent set of features at a reasonable price.
“The flagship killer”, of course, did not work out, but the technical equipment of the novelty still deserves a high assessment. The smartphone received a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The 32-megapixel selfie camera has a round cutout in the screen. The fingerprint scanner is hidden under the display.
OnePlus usually uses Qualcomm processors in its smartphones, but not this time: the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip with 5G, which is comparable in performance to Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 870. There are several modifications to choose from with 6.8 or 12 GB of RAM and 128/256 GB of internal memory.
Also inside is a 4500 mAh battery, which is divided into two parts. It supports 65W Warp Charge fast charging, which fully charges the battery from 0% to 100% in just 30 minutes.
Finally, the cherry on top is the main camera, which features a 50MP Sony IMX766 OIS sensor with Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR) that helps synthesize exposure data from two images into one final shot. By the way, the same sensor is used by the flagship OnePlus 9 Pro. It is complemented by an 8 MP “wide-angle” and a 2 MP monochrome sensor.
OnePlus Nord 2 5G in India starts at € 399. There are colors to choose from: Blue Haze, Gray Sierra and Green Woods with vegan leather trim, but the latter will unfortunately be exclusive to the Indian market.
