Insiders have repeatedly reported that the new OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone will receive a top-end MediaTek processor on board. Now this information has been confirmed.
Indian informant Mukul Sharma spotted the device in the AI Benchmark benchmark database. The report says the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chip paired with 8GB of RAM. For those not in the know, the Dimensity 1200 is a 6nm SoC that was announced in January. It has three 2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 cores, one 3.0 GHz Cortex-A78 core and four 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The processor is equipped with a Mali G77 MC9 video accelerator, an APU 3.0 module for processing AI functions, and an integrated 5G modem. In terms of performance, the Dimensity 1200 is comparable to the Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 870 chips.
So yes, OnePlus Nord 2 will indeed run on the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor. Have spotted the 8GB RAM variant of the device on the AI Benchmarking platform.

As a reminder, OnePlus Nord 2 is codenamed Denniz. The novelty is credited with a 90Hz OLED display with thin bezels and a hole, as well as a camera with several modules and a Sony IMX766 main sensor. It is also installed in place of the “width” in the OnePlus 9 Pro.
There is no date for the OnePlus Nord 2 announcement yet, but rumor has it that the smartphone will be presented in July or August with a price tag of $ 300-400.
