At least one person was killed and two wounded in a shooting at a grocery store in Nassau County, New York, on Tuesday. This was reported by NBC, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

According to the representative of the local police, the shooting occurred in one of the offices of the supermarket Stop&Shop in West Hampstead.

“The shooter escaped,” said police spokesman Patrick Ryder. According to Ryder, one person was killed, two were injured and taken to nearby hospitals as a result of the incident.

As reported by the local police, the police in their Twitter account, nearby schools are closed for security reasons; search operations are being carried out in the area. Residents are asked not to go out on the streets.
