Game industry veteran Ian Richardson has died suddenly at the age of 53.
As GamesIndustry.biz notes, Richardson spent over 30 years working on video games, including in leadership positions at Gremlin, Ocean, Europress and Rage in the 1990s.
Richardson is best known today for his work as Director of Business Development at Sumo Digital (LittleBigPlanet 3, Crackdown 3, Hood: Outlaws & Legends), where he spent six years.
Outside of work, Richardson raised significant funds for the gaming industry’s SpecialEffect fundraiser, of which he served as an ambassador.
Richardson’s sudden death is believed to be due to natural causes.
