On the main US Christmas tree, installed in Washington near the White house, the lights went out. The garland in the evening of December 21 was damaged by a man climbing the tree.
The lighting on the Christmas tree was turned off and access to the tree was closed for security reasons. As reported, it was about temporary measures.
However, it turned out that due to the suspension of the government specialists from the national parks Service, responsible for the main Christmas tree of the United States, can not begin to repair the garland.
The service of national parks received a donation to repair the Christmas tree lighting, however, as representatives of the Department told ABC7 TV channel, it is still unknown whether the funds received will be enough for repair.
NEW video just into our newsroom, from a viewer who captured the moment the man first began climbing the National Christmas Tree earlier tonight near the White House. You can hear a child asking "What is he doing? Why is he doing that to the tree?"
