Obama’s party provoked an outbreak of COVID on an American island

Former U.S. President Barack Obama threw a party on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, after which there was a sharp surge in cases of coronavirus, writes the Daily Mail.

It is reported that more than 700 people were invited to the party in honor of the 60th anniversary of the former American leader, which took place on August 7. Still, as a result, more than 300 guests attended the event. It was attended by musicians Beyonce, Jay-Z, as well as actor Bradley Cooper. The former U.S. president hired a special coordinator for COVID-19 specifically for the party.

According to the British tabloid, 74 cases of a new virus were recorded over the past week after the event, which is the highest for the island since April.

However, the local health service employees are confident that it is still premature to talk about the connection between these events. According to them, the only way to find out is to study who the patients were in contact with.
