Obama supports Biden as US presidential candidate

Former President Barack Obama on Tuesday endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee.

“Leadership that is based on experience and knowledge, honesty and modesty, compassion and charity. Such leadership should be not only at the state and mayoral levels but also in the White House. That is why I am proud to support Joe Biden as a candidate for President of the United States,” Obama said in a video message.

He added that choosing Biden as Vice President was “one of my best decisions.” “We have become close friends, and I believe that Joe has all the qualities we need for a President,” Obama said.

Obama and Biden worked together in 2009-2013.

Officially, Biden is to be nominated as the party’s presidential candidate at the Democratic Convention in August. The General presidential election, in which Biden will be opposed by the current head of state, Donald Trump, will be held on November 3.
