Novak Djokovic will not play at the Masters in Madrid

Serb Novak Djokovic’s will not play at the Masters series in Madrid (Spain), Blic Online reports.

Djokovic is the reigning champion of the Mutua Madrid Open (there was no tournament in 2020). Novak is currently training in Monte Carlo (Monaco).

Recall that at the end of January, Djokovic became an 18-time winner of the Grand Slam tournaments. In the final match of the Australian Open 2021, he beat Russian Daniil Medvedev with 7: 5, 6: 2, 6: 2.

During the Australian Open, the Serb aggravated a muscle strain injury. Djokovic spoke about the damage after the third round match of the tournament with American Taylor Fritz. Then the Serb did not even rule out that he would not enter the court in the next game. It was reported that Novak would need three to four weeks to recover.
