According to a senior North Korean diplomat, the talks will begin this week.
North Korea has agreed to resume working talks with the US on nuclear disarmament, which could begin as early as this Saturday. This is stated in the statement of the Deputy Foreign Minister of North Korea, published in state publications.
Choe Seong Hui said Pyongyang and Washington agreed to resume talks on October 5. According to her, “preliminary conversation” will take place the day before. The venue of the negotiations is not specified.
“Delegates from the DPRK are ready to enter into negotiations between the US and the DPRK at the working level. I expect that the working talks will accelerate the positive development of relations between North Korea and the United States,” the diplomat said in a statement.
