The car has been approved by the European regulator EWVTA (European Whole Vehicle Type Approval). Certification means that the car can be produced, sold, and registered for it in all EU countries.
The first European country in which NIO ES8 will appear will be Norway. If all goes according to plan, the car will be announced in September. NIO plans to sell cars without intermediaries. In addition to cars, the company will also offer customers a proprietary application developed for European users, Power Swap charging stations, and the NIO Life service.
The NIO ES8 is a 7-seater electric crossover that has been produced in China since 2018. The car has several configurations. The top-end comes with a 653 hp engine. and a 100 kWh battery with fast charging support (from 20 to 80% in 60 minutes). This version of the car accelerates to “hundreds” in 4.9 seconds and can travel on a single charge up to 580 km (according to the NEDC cycle). In China, they ask about $ 68,000 for an electric car.
