New York authorities released 900 prisoners due to the threat of coronavirus

New York City authorities released 900 prisoners from prisons because of the threat of coronavirus, Mayor Bill de Blasio said at a news conference.

“As of late Monday, 900 prisoners have been released from our prison system,” de Blasio said.

Earlier, he said that ” no one over 70 years old or with health problems should be in prison now.” We are not talking about those who have committed serious crimes.
