New MQ-25 deck boat for the US Navy was first shown with an outboard refueling unit

A promising deck unmanned tanker was equipped with a device for refueling aircraft in the air.

Photos of the Boeing MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aerial vehicle, equipped with an outboard refueling unit (PAZ), were presented by The Drive. The system is located under the wing of the aircraft.

The installation of the PAZ on the Stingray became one of the most important stages on the way to the introduction of the UAV into operation. Recall that Boeing introduced the MQ-25 in 2017. It made its first flight on September 19, 2019.

The Stingray can be considered one of the most revolutionary military aircraft of our time. It is assumed that it will be able to refuel the fourth-generation F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter-bombers and other winged aircraft at a qualitatively new level. According to experts, the introduction of the MQ-25 can significantly expand the capabilities of US carrier-based aircraft.

Another important event for the United States Navy took place recently. The F/A-18 Block III Super Hornet, which is a deeply modernized version of the Super Hornet, took to the skies for the first time. In the future, this aircraft will serve on a par with the deck “stealth” F-35C.
