Denuvo has developed an anti-cheat for the PlayStation 5

You may not have encountered cheaters while playing on your PlayStation, but Denuvo decided to keep you safe, just in case, and made friends with its anti-cheat PS5.

Gamers know Denuvo as protection against “pirates”, which temporarily protects new games from hacking and a second release on “torrents”. She is found in DOOM Eternal, Death Stranding, Devil May Cry 5, and other games. The company recently introduced anti-cheating software for PCs and smartphones, and now it has become compatible with consoles.

The company announced that it has connected to the PlayStation 5 Tools and Middleware program, and will now be able to provide its anti-cheat to game developers for the Sony console. The company’s research showed that 77% of gamers regularly encounter dishonest players and end up abandoning games, which leads to a decrease in income.

“Fraud ruins video games for honest players. This can lead to lower engagement, game traffic and lower revenue for game publishers. We are truly proud to be able to help the world’s most talented developers and provide gamers with the best experience on Playstation 5, ”said Reinhard Blaukovic, Managing Director of Denuvo, Irdeto.
It is worth noting that it is “software cheating” that is not so developed on consoles (if it exists at all), due to the closed nature of the system. Still, there are devices on the market that help players better aim and shoot. Whether Denuvo will protect against such gadgets is unknown.
