Since 1976, NASA has created more than 2 thousand new technologies.
The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) reported that its contribution to the US economy in 2019 was $ 64 billion. This is the conclusion of the first large-scale study of this kind.
According to a study published on the Agency’s website, 312,000 jobs were created in the United States in 2019, thanks to NASA’s activities. NASA also paid more than $ 7 billion in taxes to federal, state, and local budgets.
NASA management explained that the study was conducted to demonstrate the effect of investment from the Federal budget.
NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine stressed in a press release that the Agency’s needs account for half a percent of the US Federal budget expenditures, which helps strengthen the country’s economy and contributes to scientific and technological progress.
