Popular Mechanics magazine named the likely developer of the latest generation fighter for the US air force.
“Lockheed Martin chief financial officer Ken Possenriede hinted that the aerospace giant is working on creating a new aircraft – and hints suggest that we may be talking about a new secret fighter for the air force,” the publication writes.
According to the author of the article, the company’s income and expenses indicate that Lockheed Martin is developing a “large and mysterious product.”
It is assumed that the sixth generation’s secret aircraft, part of the Next Generation Air Dominance program, should eventually replace the F-22 Raptor fighter. The program is designed to ensure the US air force’s superiority in future conflicts with potential adversaries like China and Russia, the magazine writes.
