Nakamura defeated Caruana and became the first finalist in an online tournament

American chess player Hikaru Nakamura became the first finalist of the tournament, which is held online.

In the semifinals, Nakamura beat another US representative, Fabiano Caruana. At the end of six batches, Nakamura won with a score of 4-2.

The second finalist will be determined on May 2 in a match between Norwegian world champion Magnus Carlsen and Chinese Ding Liren.

The competition, which is organized on the initiative of Carlsen, will end on May 3. Eight chess players took part in the tournament with a prize Fund of 250 thousand dollars. The prize for the first place is 70 thousand dollars.
