More than 60 countries have called for the safe departure of foreigners from Afghanistan, according to a statement issued by the U.S. State Department.

The states that supported the appeal are the United States, France, Germany, Ukraine, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

“Given the deterioration of the security situation, we support… and we call on all parties to respect and facilitate the safe and orderly departure of foreign citizens and Afghans who want to leave the country,” the statement said.

The signatories also call to keep roads, airports, and border crossings open and maintain order in the region.
