Morales considers his resignation as President of Bolivia the result of a coup

Putschists attacked his house, wrote the ex-head of the Republic.

Retired from the post of President of Bolivia Evo Morales said that the country was a coup. He expressed this opinion on Monday on Twitter.

“The putschists who attacked my house and my sister’s house, set fire to buildings, threatened to kill Ministers and their children,<…> now they lie and try to blame us for the chaos and violence that they provoked. Bolivia and the world are witnesses to the coup,” Morales wrote.

Bolivian President Evo Morales announced his resignation in a televised address on Sunday after weeks of protests over “irregularities” in elections that took place in October.
Earlier, he called for new presidential elections, but this did not ease the pressure on him.
