Montreal Stanley Cup winner Tom Kurvers dies

Tom Kurvers, the winner of the 1986 Stanley Cup with the Montreal Canadiens, has died, according to the official website of the National Hockey League.

Kurvers died on Monday at the age of 58. In January 2019, Kervers was diagnosed with lung cancer.

In total, Kurvers spent 11 seasons in the NHL, playing as a defender. He played 659 games in the league, scored 93 goals, and provided 328 assists. Since July 2018, Kurvers has been the deputy general manager of Minnesota.
