Mike Pompeo announced the availability of data on the leak of the virus from the Wuhan laboratory

US intelligence has data that scientists fell ill in the Wuhan laboratory before the pandemic, as well as the presence of “a large amount of evidence” of the virus leaking from this place, said former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

“I can say with confidence that the laboratory was engaged in activities related to the People’s Liberation Army of China. Military developments were conducted in parallel with civilian research,” Pompeo was quoted as saying by Fox News.

The former Secretary of State claims that American intelligence has information that scientists fell ill in the Wuhan laboratory before the pandemic. In addition, the US intelligence community has “a large amount of evidence” of the virus leaking from this place, the former official added.

Mike Pompeo also added that the Chinese institute was allegedly engaged in research related to increasing the degree of contagion and lethality of viruses.

Last week, British intelligence said it believed a “possible” leak of the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus from a laboratory. It was noted that British Professor Angus Dalgleish and Norwegian virologist Birger Sorensen stated that they had “evidence” of the artificial origin of the coronavirus infection. According to them, Chinese scientists have created SARS-CoV-2 in a laboratory located in the city of Wuhan. Later, experts from the People’s Republic of China allegedly preferred to “cover their tracks” in such a way that all the evidence pointed to the natural origin of the virus.
