Miguel Cordona confirmed as US Secretary of Education

He previously served in the Connecticut state government.

President Joe Biden’s nominee for Secretary of Education has been confirmed by the Senate.

The senators supported the candidacy of Miguel Cardona with 64 votes in favor and 33 against. Cardona previously served as the Commissioner of Education for the State of Connecticut.

He will replace Betsy DeVos, who was appointed to this position by former President Donald Trump.
