Microsoft learned from Apple. Windows 10’s latest major update is rolling out very quickly

In just 2 months, it covered 11.6% of all Windows 10 computers.

The statistical agency AdDuplex published data from its study for July this year, which deals with the prevalence of various versions of Windows 10. As it turned out, the latest update – Windows 10 v2004 (aka Win 10 1H20) – is spreading very quickly: in just two months from its release, it has already covered 11.6% of all computers with Windows 10. Even 3-4 years ago, only Apple could demonstrate such a speed of distribution of updates to its OS.

At the same time, as you can see in the diagram, a large share falls on earlier versions of Windows 10: spring 2019 update – 43.6%, autumn – 36.8%. The share of the most advanced version of the operating system – Windows 10 Insider, used for testing and debugging, is only 0.5%.
