German Chancellor Angela Merkel did not meet British Prime Minister Theresa May when she arrived on Tuesday in a company car to the Chancellor’s office in Berlin. The corresponding record was distributed by German TV channels and mass media.
“At five minutes to 12 Theresa May alone walked the red carpet, because the host Merkel at that time has not come yet”, commented the news anchor on the channel ARD.
A few seconds later, the two politicians came to the top of the carpet to shake hands in front of the cameras.
The meeting between May and Merkel lasted about an hour and a half, the parties discussed the possible timing of the transfer of “Brexit”. After that, the head of the British Cabinet went to Paris to meet with the French President Emmanuel Macron.
On Wednesday, an extraordinary EU summit on the UK’s exit from the community will be held.
