Meghan Markle is going to give her first interview after the birth of Lilibet’s daughter Diana, who was born two weeks ago. According to royal expert Omid Scobie, the 39-year-old Duchess of Sussex will talk about her first children’s book, Bench, on NPR’s Samantha Balaban program. The interview will air Sunday from 8 am to 10 am ET.
A few days after the birth, Lilibeth Markle released the book “The Bench”, based on a poem she wrote for her husband, Prince Harry, just after the birth of their first child, Archie’s son. In May, my son turned 2 years old. The book, which also features a drawing of Meghan with her newborn Sussex daughter, took first place on the bestseller list of children’s picture books right after its release. Markle thanked readers on Wednesday, noting that her story of fathers and sons portrays “the other side of masculinity.”
“Although this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I am encouraged that its timeless themes of love, representation, and inclusion resonate with communities around the world,” Markle said. “In many ways, creating a more compassionate and just world starts with these core values. Likewise, portraying the other side of masculinity – based on connection, emotion and gentleness – is to simulate the world that many would like to create for their sons and daughters.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry currently reside in a $14 million mansion in Montecito, California. The couple recently spoke to Oprah Winfrey about their struggle with royal life and now their relationship with the family cannot be called warm.
