White House noted that negotiations are progressing, although there are still differences between the parties.
White House chief of staff Mark Meadows said on Wednesday that the main obstacle to reaching an agreement on economic assistance in connection with the coronavirus remains the issue of funding for state and municipal governments. At the same time, he added that the parties managed to make progress.
“The negotiations have entered a new phase, which is more related to the technical side – we need to work out the wording if we can agree on the numbers. There are still differences between us. There are still some issues that need to be worked on, but over the past 24 hours, we have made progress,” Meadows said in an interview with Fox Business Network.
