May said Trump that the US and the UK after “Brexit” will be able to conclude a trade deal

The British Prime Minister noted that both leaders recognized the importance of the activities of the existing British-American working groups that are discussing future agreements and have already made progress in this.

British Prime Minister Theresa May told the US President Donald Trump that a trade deal is possible between the two countries after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union. May herself informed the British deputies, speaking on Monday in the House of Commons.

“I spoke with President Trump on the sidelines of [G20 leaders in Argentina]. I told him that we can actually reach a trade deal with the US under an agreement with the EU, which is on the negotiating table. We recognized the importance of the activities of the existing British-American working groups, which are discussing future trade agreements and have already made progress in this direction,” -May said.

The leaders of 27 EU countries approved an agreement with the UK on the conditions of “Brexit” and a political Declaration on subsequent relations with London. To enter this agreement into force, it must be approved by the parliaments of all remaining EU countries, the European Parliament and British legislators.

Brexit itself is scheduled for March 29, 2019.

Earlier, trump said that the deal between London and Brussels could become an obstacle to further the US and UK trade.
