Actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II spoke in an interview with Collider about working on the film “Matrix 4”. He promises that fans will be impressed by the picture:
My reaction to the script was, “Wow, people should like this. I already like”. This is something completely new, but at the same time, it is the same as in previous films. We can say that this is a really sensible combination of what the audience wants to see and what they do not yet know what they want.
My first meeting with Lana Wachowski wasn’t even an audition. It was just a meeting so that she gets to know me better so that I get to know her better, I just told how I became an actor. It is important for Lana that the cast of the film becomes a family. And I was very lucky to be accepted into this family. To go with this team to Berlin and take part in creating something special is something that I can be proud of. Be proud to be a part of it.
It is not yet known who Yahya Abdul-Matin II will play in the new film. In addition to him, other newcomers appeared on the team: Jessica Henick, Jonathan Groff, Priyanka Chopra, Andrew Caldwell, and Neil Patrick Harris. They joined franchise veterans Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Lambert Wilson. Film production has resumed in Berlin after being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Warner Bros. Studio postponed the premiere from May 21, 2021, to April 1, 2022.
