One of the leading welterweight fighters Jorge Masvidal threatened the UFC leadership with leaving the league if he did not increase fees.
According to the fighter, for a potential title fight with league champion Kamaru Usman, he is offered a lower amount than he received for a duel with Nate Diaz.
Why make me fight for half of what I made on my last fight cause the other dude can’t draw?— Jorge Masvidal UFC (@GamebredFighter) June 5, 2020
“If I’m not worth the money, just let me go. Why should I get half as much as the last fight? Just don’t blame it on the pandemic. The markets have been showing the highest rise recently, everything is back to work, and you are buying an island. Stop playing with us and the fans. I never took a pay cut. Now should I do this in a title fight? What’s wrong with you guys, ”Masvidal wrote on his Twitter page.
Earlier, UFC light heavyweight champion John Jones also came into conflict with the league because of financial disagreements.
