American mixed martial artist (MMA) Jorge Masvidal will again fight for the title of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title, ESPN reports.
The 36-year-old American will have a rematch with compatriot and current belt holder Kamaru Usman. The Jacksonville Tournament will take place on April 24th. The confrontation between Masvidal and Usman will be the main battle of the evening.
In February, Usman announced his readiness to give Masvidal a second chance. The fighter promised to “bury the opponent”.
In July 2020, Masvidal accepted an offer to fight Usman for the UFC title six days before the fight. The fight lasted all five rounds. The champion retained the title by winning by decision.
The 33-year-old Usman has 18 victories with a single defeat. He has never lost in fights under the auspices of the UFC. Usman, the winner of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter, won a promotion based on its results.
Masvidal is known for his performances at Bellator, Strikeforce. On account of his 35 wins and 14 defeats.
