Lucasfilm Celebrates 50th Anniversary: LEGO Unveils New R2-D2 Star Wars Droid Set

The LEGO company in 2012 released a set of droid R2-D2 of 2,127 parts, and now, after 9 years, it has decided to show its updated version.

The novelty was presented in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Lucasfilm film studio. The figurine received 2314 parts and several moving parts. For example, the robot turns its head, legs, and also moves out the periscope. The novelty also has a special compartment for storing a lightsaber. The height of the toy is 31 cm.

By the way, in addition to the droid itself, the kit also includes its miniature figure and a plate with a description.

The updated R2-D2 set will be available on May 1st. You will have to pay 200 US dollars for it.
