LG has no plans to release flagship smartphones with Snapdragon 875 chip yet

The information appeared on the network that LG will postpone the release of flagship smartphones based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor for now.

This was announced by a source from Hong Kong. According to him, LG has not placed an order for the new top-end Qualcomm chip. Instead, the Korean manufacturer has pre-ordered the simpler Snapdragon 775G SoC. Most likely, while the company will focus on devices in the middle price segment. Therefore, it is not worth waiting for the successor to the LG G8X ThinQ in the first half of 2021.

As a reminder, the Snapdragon 875 chip is set to debut at the Tech Summit on December 1-2. According to rumors, it will be built on 5-nanometer process technology and will receive two versions. The novelty should work on the Kryo 685 cores. In addition, the SoC will be equipped with an updated video accelerator, an integrated 5G X60 modem supporting mmWave and sub-6 networks, Wi-Fi 6, a Spectra 580 module for image processing, a Qualcomm security processor (SPU250), memory LPDDR5 SDRAM, and low power audio system.
