Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were the leaders in the number of nominations for the MTV Video Music Awards, according to Billboard.
Each of them has nine nominations, including several shared for the song “Rain On Me” (it is presented in the categories:” video of the year,” “song of the year,” ” best collaboration,” “best pop video”).
They are followed by Billy Ailish and The Weekend (they have six each), with Taylor Swift in third place (five).
This year’s video of the year award nominees is Billy Ailish with “Everything I wanted,” Eminem and Juice WRLD with “Godzilla,” Future and Drake with “Life is good,” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande with “Rain on me,” Taylor Swift with “The man” and The Weeknd with “Blinding lights.”
Competing in the best song category is Billy Irish with “Everything I wanted,” Doja Cat with “Say so,” Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande with “Rain on me,” Megan Thee Stallion with “Savage,” Post Malone with “Circles” and Roddy Ricch with “The Box.”
DaBaby, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Megan Thee Stallion, Post Malone, and The Weeknd will compete for the title of “artist of the year.”
This year, the award has two new categories: “best music video recorded from home” and “best quarantine performance.”
In 15 categories, including “video of the year” and “performer of the year,” there is a public vote on the site until August 23.
The results will be announced at a ceremony on August 30.
