King of Norway admitted to hospital

The reason for the hospitalization of 83-year-old Harald V was heavy breathing. Coronavirus has already been ruled out.

King of Norway, Harald V, was hospitalized on Friday morning. The Norwegian Telegraph Bureau reported this with reference to the press service of the Royal family.

“His Majesty King Harald was hospitalized this morning,” the press service said.

“The reason was heavy breathing. The king is being examined. The coronavirus has already been ruled out,” it added.

Harald V is 83 years old and ascended the throne in 1991.

Crown Prince Haakon will chair the State Council meeting on Friday instead of his father. As recently as Thursday, the king was taking part in an official event in Oslo.
