The Chairman of the state Council of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN on Saturday afternoon went from Pyongyang railway station to Hanoi for the upcoming meeting with the US President Donald Trump.
“Around 17.00 local time Kim Jong — UN went to Hanoi on his armored train, – said the Agency interlocutor. – It is expected that all the way to the capital of Vietnam, the leader of the DPRK will do by rail transit through China.”
As previously reported by a number of Asian media, citing its informed sources, the train of the DPRK leader should arrive from Pyongyang to the Chinese station Dandong, then to Beijing, from there it will go to the South of China, cross the border with Vietnam near the station Lang Son and get to Hanoi. The total length of railway route from the capital of the DPRK to Vietnam is more than 4.5 thousand km. At an average speed of heavy armored trains of less than 100 km/h the journey might take more than two days.
The first ever summit of the US President and leader of the DPRK was held on June 12 last year in Singapore. As a result, Donald Trump and Kim Jong-UN signed a joint document in which Pyongyang committed itself to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula in exchange for security guarantees from Washington.
